Music takes me to my happy place and even though I listen to most of it through Spotify I still enjoy physical copies of albums from time to time, especially the classics. So imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Cactus Music – one of Houston’s oldest record stores. I was in music heaven!
Vinyl and CD lovers have a huge selection to sort through at fair prices. You can find classic records and more recent bodies of work if you have a minute to sift through the many choices. I also appreciate Cactus for it’s collection of vintage tees (I found my favorite Beatles shirt here years ago) and band paraphernalia. Fans of live music can also pop in for a show featuring local artists. One thing I really love about Cactus, though, is it’s randomness. You don’t have to be a music lover to leave with something awesome. You can find a unique gift for a friend, a good book, or random items like socks, posters, and mugs. Check it out if you’re ever in the Montrose area!
